Baby Shower Games

Why are we even playing games at an obviously ‘adult’ party? (Click EasyEdit to add them to this page.)

Because baby shower games are used as icebreakers and as the main entertainment… unless the baby is already here! If you’re throwing a shower after baby’s born, bringing family and friends together to meet the new baby, oftentimes the new baby is entertainment enough.

For Showers that need games, though, you’ll want to have about 3 - 5 games for a two hour Shower. Don’t overwhelm
your guests with activities, remember, everyone wants to see the parents-to-be, and not just in the race to the finish line!

You want time for the parents-to-be to open presents, possibly eat some munchies, and just talk about the good times with their friends and family.

When thinking about games, consider using a baby shower theme.

The theme for the shower can also be carried into the games you choose…and it will make choosing those games so much easier!

One final thought is: Consider designating an assistant to help you. Depending on how complicated the games you chose are, you may want an extra hand - after all, you need to enjoy the Shower too!

Most baby shower games are centered on or around baby products, cute baby things, making guests eat gross foods, making guests drink out of a bottle, and even making guests act like a baby. If you’re creative, you can make a game out of virtually anything.

Types of Baby Shower Games

Ice Breakers

For the host, getting guests who don’t know each other very well to talk and mingle can be a daunting task, depending on the crowd. But, by using baby shower games that “force” guests to talk to each other encourages them to warm up and “break the ice”. Game ideas: Disney Trivia, Spin the Bottles, String Talk, Human Bingo, etc.

Creating Memories

Creating Memories is all about creating scrapbook items or other items the parents-to-be can take home from the Baby Shower to keep as reminders of this wonderful day. Most of these projects can be turned into competition by having the parents-to-be choose their favorites, so we have included them as baby shower games. Game ideas: Name Poem with Advice, Baby Tees, Necklace Wishes, Baby Bath Towel Guestbook, Footprint & Handprint Advice, etc.

Chanllenging

Some games require more thinking than others, and some are just plain challenging! Here’s some games that really get your guests using their brain power! Game ideas: Tongue tied, ABC-VIP, Multi-tasking Mom, Name that White Stuff, etc.

Couples and Code Shower Games

Let’s face it, new Dads don’t want to be left out of the fun! More and more showers are including Dads and couples, and you’ll want to make sure your games are fit for the coed crowd. Game ideas: Guys & Dolls, Fashion Wear, Sports Betting, Nascar Race, Bottle Stack, etc.

Here you can learn more about how to find the most fun and popular baby shower games to entertain the guests and the parents-to-be.
