Baby-wearing to increase communication
It is so important to talk to your baby in it's first year of life as much as possible to give your baby the building blocks for communication. A great way to increase the amount of verbal stimulation your baby gets is to carry your baby in a sling or "frontpack" (such as the Baby Bjorn) as opposed to in a stroller. When your baby is right up near your head, it reminds you that you can continuously be talking to your baby and pointing things out. In a stroller, it is much more difficult to contantly talk to your baby. Take advantage of the times you and your baby are walking together to develop his/her communication skills by carrying him or her!
