I started taking birthcontrol on November. 24, 2008 while I was on my period. My period lasted for 5 days. I stopped taking the pill on Dec. 2, 2008 due to the side effects from the pill. On Dec. 6, 2008 I got my period again but it was lite and it lasted for 5 days. it's now Jan. 12, 2009 and my cycle has not came on. I feel sick in the mornings but not enough to vomit. I have alot of pain in my abdominal area, sometimes its cramps and the other times it just feels like pinching at the bottom of my stomach. I took a pregnacy test last week and it was negative and im still feeling the pinching pain. I've had heart burn, but it only occured a few times. Yes I have unprotected sex and he releases inside once or twice a week. Could you give me any suggestions?

My number one suggestion is that you quit having unprotected sex unless you're trying to get pregnant.

Second, starting and stopping hormonal birth control (like that in birth control pills) can throw your cycle off and change how frequently you get your period and how heavy it is. Wait a week then use a pregnancy test again. If it is still negative and you still haven't started your period you may want to see a doctor.

I have been having unprotected sex for six months now so thats why I decided to take the birth control. My cycle has been irregular thats why I started taking the birth control to regulate it. But im not sure what to do.

Ask your gyn doctor to switch your pills. Thats what I did.. I was spot bleeding and missing periods, and some would be heavy and others really light.... So I asked if she would up the millagrams, she did and now My periods are perfect. They last 4 days and are regular. SO really I would ask him/her.

Thanks for that information, I'm going to actually try out the nuva ring to see how that works. Although Im trying to have another child , it would be impossible with my cycle being irregular so hopefully the doctor can give me advice. Thats why I started taking the birth control pills but could not tolerate the side affects. Do you find this valuable?

Just so you know i LOVE the nuvaring. Its very comforatable and works great, with almost no side effects. You cant feel it ever and its easy to take out and put in. I hope it works for you, it works amazing for me. Good luck!
