I'm 5 days late and took two at home pregnancy tests...both negative. My husband & I had sex right when I thought I was ovulating and I've been off the pill for two months now. We already have two children and with both we got pregnant the second month off the pill. I'm also very regular...28 days on the dot. Could I still be pregnant even though the tests said negative?

There is always a possibility that the tests you took were not strong enough to pick on up your HCG levels (the pregnancy hormone). Many things can cause you to be late on a period though, even if you feel you are a consistant cycler. Stress, diet, even thinking you are pregnancy can cause your body to change it's normal cycle.

I am not a doctor, but this is what I would do if I was in your situation (and I have been). Wait a few more days and take another test, or visit your doctor and have a blood test done which can pick up on even remote levels of HCG. Since you are not sure if you are pregnant or not, avoid things that are questionable during pregnancy- alcohol, drugs, certain over the counter medications- and treat your body as if you are pregnant until you are absolutely sure.

In this case, time will tell. :-) Good luck.

I have started a page explaining HCG here http://wiki.obgyn.net/page/HCG-+what+is+it%3F .
